I grew up in neighboring Evanston, IL and went to college at The University of Iowa where I majored in English and minored in Spanish (and spent my "free" time in the swimming pool, diving). After graduating, I spent time in Spain and Mexico improving my Spanish and teaching English. When I returned to Evanston, IL, I continued my studies and earned a Masters of Arts in Teaching and ELL Endorsement at National Louis University.
I started my teaching career in Des Plaines where I stayed for eleven years, mostly teaching 4/5 multi-age. When I came to District 73.5, I worked with first and second grade ELL students. Most recently, I taught third grade here for four years, and joined the fourth grade team four years ago. I am so excited to be working again with fourth graders here at Middleton!
I have two children in District 73.5 (and one in District 219!), and I feel extremely fortunate to be a part of such a fantastic, caring community! Thank you for sharing your children with me. They are amazing!
